We want to see Biodiversity across Offaly celebrated!
My Wild Garden
This picture is of my garden! The garden runs next to the river and we have many visitors; frogs, herons, blue tits, ducks, robins, jackdaws, wood pigeons, butterflies and the occassional hedgehog. I am passionate about letting what has been sleeping in my garden (sometimes for years) come back to life. Blackberry bushes, Alder, Hazel and Hawthorn trees have all emerged over the last few years. I let dandelions bloom and elder and buddhelia flourish. It is a bit of a mess but it supports a myriad of life!
To celebrate National Biodiversity Week, we want to see Offaly in all it’s natural glory!
We are asking you to send in pictures of the Biodiversity near you over the coming week. Whether it is a park, the farm, a river, the bog, your school or your own back garden we want to see the incredible Biodiversity from across Offaly. We will post your images on our facebook and instagram pages so if you want to say a few words about your picture or you want to share some nature wisdom, a poem or anything else go ahead!
